However, in order to add friends so that you can play a game together, you need two items: “Name” and “Activision ID.” This holds true for both you and your pals. For you to be able to give them to your friends and for them to be able to add you, you will need these two items. Below is the process that you need to follow in order to be able to find the activation ID and name in COD: MW2:
Step 1: Start the game and press the “options” button, then navigate to “Settings” on the menu on your right side of the screen.
Step 2: Scroll down to “Account and Network” and select the “Online” tab. Under the tab, click on “Activision Account” and you’ll be able to see your Activision ID and name. You can copy it from there.
Step 3: Get back over to “Home” and press the “Options” button. Click on “Social” and tab over to “Friends.” You’ll be able to send the pasted Activision ID from the game to your friends, allowing them to join you in-game.
