The PlayStation Network (PSN) is an online gaming and media content distribution service. It can be used once you register for it on a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console.
Because of the countless hours of recorded gameplay, the high scores, game awards, and social connections, you treasure your PlayStation Network (PSN) account. Unfortunately, PSN accounts are a favourite target for hackers who want to steal both your identity and your personal information. Your email address, credit card information, and other important personal information are all stored in your PSN account. These details are used by hackers to access accounts you have on websites other than PSN. The hackers may even change your password and email so that you don’t have any access left, and then they can try to sell you access to your own account. There are various actions you may take if you discover that your PSN account has been hacked, and today we’re going to discuss how to accomplish that specifically. Continue reading.
How to recover a hacked PS5 account with a changed email or two-step verification?
Below are the steps that you need to follow in order to recover your PlayStation account:
Step 1: Using a PC, go on over to your web browser, type “Playstation.com” in the URL bar, and hit “Enter.”
Step 2: Go to “Support” in the top right corner of your screen and then scroll all the way to the bottom to click on “Online Assistant.”
Step 3: Type in your first and last name, and click on “Start chatting.” Next, click on “Account Recovery” and provide all the required information to the bot, like your PlayStation ID, and wait till it connects you to a real agent.
Step 4: The agent will ask for your name, mobile number, and email ID to be able to assist you better. Provide him/her with the pre-requisite information and let them know that your account has been hacked, and answer any other questions that the agent might have related to your account.
After you have explained the issue to the agent, he will ask for the last 4 digits of your credit or debit card in order to verify your identity. (Don’t worry, it’s safe!) Provide him with this information, and he will help you restore your account. He will send you a link to an alternate email address, which will allow you to change the password, change the email, and sign in back on your console. Make sure to open that link within 24 hours in order to be able to restore your account. Also, turn back on two-step verification as soon as you’ve gotten access to your account.
That’s all, folks! Above were the necessary steps that you needed to follow in order to restore your hacked PS account.
