Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation 5 is the latest generation of video gaming consoles. The PS5 is known to be 2.5 times more powerful than the PS4 Pro, promising you an impeccable gaming experience.
The PS5 is a well-designed console that offers a gripping gaming experience. The new and improved dualsense controller, spatial 3D audio, better frame rates, and lightning fast SSD make the PS5 really stand out in the market. Now that we are talking about games for the PS5, let’s say you want to download a new game to your console, but you have got to go somewhere, say work. Would you just put the game on download, get away to your work, and leave your PS5 just like that to keep downloading the game? Well, there’s a much faster and more efficient way to keep downloading the games while you’re away. The way is to download the games on your console while in rest mode. Not sure how to do this? We’ve got you covered. Continue reading to learn “How to Download Games on Your Console in Rest Mode.”
What is “Rest Mode” on the PS5 and how do I activate it?
When you put the console on Rest Mode, it goes into a low-power state and you can resume gaming at anytime without having to restart the console. It puts the console to sleep without deactivating it so that it can start right away as soon as you are ready to play. While in rest mode, the PS5 still performs necessary functions like updating the firmware or, in this case, downloading the games.
To put your PS5 in sleep mode, just go to “Settings” , click on “System“, and scroll down to select “Power Saving“. Then, select “Features available in the rest mode” and make sure that the “Stay connected to the internet” option is enabled. But the work is not done yet. Next, you want to go back to “Settings” and select “Saved data and game/app settings“. From there, click on “Automatic Updates” and make sure that both the “Auto Download” and “Auto install in rest mode” options are enabled.
That’s it. You can now put the games on download, get away to your work, and when you come back, you’ll find the game ready to play.
