Odyssey Interactive finally released their debut game Omega Strikers on September 16, 2022, initially for PC, Android, and iOS platforms.
Since the game’s release, there have been some issues that players have encountered while attempting to play the game. The issues that are getting most commonly reported are “game crashing at startup” and “game not launching/encountering a black screen while trying to start the game.” Today, we’re going to look at both of these issues individually and see how to sort them out.
Issue #1: Omega Strikers crashing at startup
Solution #1: First, match the specifications of your system with the game requirements because if they don’t match, there are high chances that the game will fail to run. Also, make sure that the drive on which the game has been installed has enough space. After confirming both of these things, what you need to do is close the game, restart the system, and then install the “Oculus” application. Yes, you heard that right. Even though the game and this application have not much to do with each other, it still works. What you need to do is that before starting the game, you need to run the Oculus application or make sure that Oculus is enabled to run at startup. This fix has proved to be a working one for many users who were facing this issue. In case it doesn’t work for you, make sure that your operating system is up-to-date and confirm that you’re running the latest DirectX version.
Issue #2: Omega Strikers are unable to launch and get a black screen after launching the game.
Solution #2: For this issue also, you have to follow the step that we suggested for Issue #1, i.e., install the “Oculus” app and run it before you attempt to run the game. For some weird reason, this solves the problem. Now, if this doesn’t work for you, what we will suggest is to head over to “Steam.” Go to your “Library” and select the “Omega Strikers” game. Then, click on “Properties,” go over to “Local Files,” and finally hit the “Verify Integrity of Game Files” button. This will check if there’s a problem with game files and whether you need to reinstall it to fix it. If this also doesn’t get rid of the problem for you, then there may be an issue with the “DLL” files of the game. To fix this issue, head over to “Steam“, go to your “Library“, right-click on the “Omega Strikers” game, and click on “Browse local files.” Now go to “Prometheus > Binaries > Win64” and look for the “Prometheus-Win64-Shipping.exe” file. Right click on it and hit “Run as Administrator.” If an error message pops up, reinstall all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable files or maybe reinstall the whole game again.
That’s all, folks! The above-stated solutions have worked for many users in the community, and we hope that they work for you as well. If there are any more solutions available in the future, we’ll be sure to update them here.
