Not to be confused with the 2009 game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, this game just carries the name of it but in reality is a direct sequel to the 2019 game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Even though this game is yet to be released on October 28th, 2022, all PC, PlayStation and Xbox owners who pre-ordered it already have access to the beta programme. Since the day the beta was out, players have been testing this game out and also enjoying it. However, some players are also having difficulty understanding the functions of the game. Today, we’re going to explain one such function to the players, namely “Adding friends and inviting them to the game” in COD MW 2. So, let’s dive in and learn how to do this.
How to Add or Invite a Friend in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
Below are the steps that you need to follow in order to add or invite a friend to the game:
Step 1: To add or invite friends to the game, you need to have their Activision ID. To get this, click on the “options” button in the game and navigate to “Settings“. Select “Accounts and network” from the drop down menu and then click on “Activision Account“. Now you can provide the below-given ID to your friend or have them hand theirs over to you.
Step 2: Now that you have the Activision ID, again click on the “Options” button and tab over to “Settings“. Select “Social” and press the “R1” key on the controller or the respective key on PC to see a list of your friends. Click on “Add Friends“, paste the Activision ID in the given column, and click on “Send Request“. As soon as they accept your friend request, they will appear in your friends list.
Step 3: Now, to invite your friends, just choose a friend from your friends list who you want to invite to join a game or party and tap on them. Select the “Join game” option if you want to head over to a game with them, or select “Channels” if you want to create a voice chat or text chat channel with them. Alternatively, to invite a friend, you can press the “PS” button or the “Xbox guide” button on your controller, click on “Friends“, choose a friend who you want to invite to the game, and press “X” on them. You’ll see an icon below your friend’s name which says “Invite to game“. Just click on it and that’s it.
