Epic Games “Install directory must be empty” error: How to fix it?
Below are the steps that you need to follow in order to fix the above issue:
Step 1: Press the “Windows” and “R” keys together on your keyboard to bring up the “Run” dialogue.
Step 2: Now either paste this text in the Run dialogue box, “C:\Program Files\Epic Games/(insert the game name here)” and hit “Enter.” If you have installed the game somewhere other than the default location, please modify the above dialogue and then paste it in the “Run” section.
Step 3: After opening the Epic Games folder, select the game folder that you’re having an issue with and open it. You’ll find 3 or 4 subfolders under the main game folder, and you have to delete the “Engine” and “(game-name)Game” folders permanently.
Step 4: Close the folder, restart your PC, and then launch the “Epic Games Launcher” again to start the game. The issue should be fixed.
