The new PlayStation 5 continues to impress us with its innovative controller, lightning-fast load times, and dedicated games.
The Sony PlayStation 5 is a great gaming console, and since its release in 2020, it has been very difficult to find one at an affordable price. The console itself is a huge improvement over the previous Sony line that featured the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Some outstanding characteristics include no loud jet fans noticeable in gaming sessions, a 4th generation NVME SSD, and a new dual-sense controller. With this upgraded technology, 4K at 120 frames per second is a wonderful bonus. But even after being so technologically advanced and feature-loaded, the PS5 is still known to have a few issues that haven’t been fixed by Sony yet. One of the common issues noted is the “sound issues on PS5 for TV or headphones.” So let’s dive in and help you repair this issue.
How do I fix a PS5 that has no sound from the TV or headphones?
Turn off your PS5 completely and unplug all the cables from the back of your console, including the “power cable” and the “HDMI cable.” Do the same with your TV or monitor. Wait for a minute or two, and then turn them on. After starting up the PS5, grab the controller, press the “PS Button,” navigate to “Sound” from the flip bar, and then select the desired output device. Also, make sure that the controller volume slider is turned fully to the right. Then, navigate to “Mic” from the flip bar and select the mic that you want to use. Lastly, click on the “settings” icon on your top-right and scroll down to “Sound“. Select “Audio Output” and make sure that the option “Switch output device automatically” is checked.
That’s all, folks! This was the best solution that our team could find that worked for most of the users. If you’re still facing the same issue after following all the above steps in order, we’d highly recommend you contact PlayStation Support and let them guide you further.
